Meet Brandon!

IT Administrator

Brandon Rupert is an IT Administrator who has been with EHTC since early 2021. He started working indirectly in the finance and business industry through a position in IT. Brandon more so ‘fell’ into his career path rather than choosing it, after joining the Marine Corps and taking an assignment as a Data Network Specialist. He graduated from Washtenaw Community College in 2008 and is experienced in CompTIA Net+ and ITIL Foundations.

At EHTC, Brandon provides IT Support to employees, maintains software applications, and works on new projects to improve the IT environment. He believes, as a support person, the most important part of his job is to be reliable and complete — and to make himself available to offer informed solutions to the issues employees come to him with.

Brandon says anyone looking into working in the IT field needs a strong understanding of IT security practices. That’s especially true in the financial industry. “To be successful, you need to understand the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind security controls, as well as how they impact users and the company’s clients on a day-to-day basis,” he says. Another important factor is reacting and mitigating threats in real time, which takes skilled decision making and experience.

Brandon loves being creative and competitive in whatever he does, and his favorite part about working at EHTC is that the company is well organized. Communication methods are clearly defined, allowing the staff to be informed, productive, and independent.

Outside of work, Brandon is routinely trying new hobbies and experiences to gain exposure to a variety of interests. He loves cooking and believes football season is the best season.
