Meet Maddie!
Tax & Advisory Services Senior Associate
Maddie Boerema is a Tax & Advisory Services Senior Associate at EHTC, joining the team in January of 2021. She graduated from Hope College in 2019 with a degree in Business and Public Accounting, and went to work for a larger public accounting firm before making the move to EHTC.
For as long as Maddie can remember, she’s wanted to be an elementary school teacher, but later on in high school decided to make a change to pursue accounting.
At EHTC, Maddie works within the tax department to prepare tax returns for both individuals and businesses. She is also a member of the Advisory Services department, working with clients on financial and tax due diligence projects, where she focuses on understanding a client’s financial performance, including the evaluation of known and unknown tax liabilities, to ensure purchase prices accurately reflect the company’s historical performance and value.
Maddie continues to hone her skills and grow within the team, gaining knowledge on business valuations, merger and acquisition transactions, and complex tax returns. Her favorite parts of working at EHTC are her coworkers and the endless opportunities to try new projects. She’s not afraid to ask questions or make mistakes, as it’s a part of the learning process. She gives the same advice to others, and also recommends building a network with those in the accounting industry to seek guidance when just starting out.
When she’s not at work, Maddie enjoys reading books, spending time at the beach, and watching reality TV.
