Meet Jacob!

Valuation Services Associate

Jacob Begeman is a Valuation Services Associate at EHTC, originally joining the team as an intern in the summer of 2022. He’s a Western Michigan University graduate with a major in Finance and a Minor in Computer Information Systems. Jacob has always had a passion for business, but it was a vigorous valuation course taken in his last semester that sparked his interest in business appraisal work. He gained experience in the finance industry working in banking while he completed his college studies and further during his internship.  

Jacob specializes in analyzing financial data and uncovering issues underneath. He enjoys this specialty area because each day is different, and there are always challenges that allow him to continue learning and exercising his mind.

At EHTC, Jacob performs comparative research to assist in establishing fair market value, which includes reading up on current industry news and reviewing data from various platforms. He also compiles and examines financial data to prepare valuation reports. Jacob appreciates working for a firm that cares so much for their clients and employees, and also likes EHTC’s unique and diverse culture.

When asked what advice he would give to someone interested in pursuing a career in finance, he recommends networking as much as possible. “Get out of your comfort zone and attend events that allow you to meet new people in the professional world,” Jacob says. “This can take time to get used to, but it helped me gain key insight and advice from professionals who were once in my shoes, and also unlocked new opportunities for the future.”

Outside of work, Jacob golfs, skis, hikes, and watches live sports.
