Meet Nicholas!

Tax Associate

Nicholas DeNooy works in the Tax Services Department at EHTC as a Tax Associate. He joined the firm in September 2023 after graduating from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Nicholas chose the field of Accounting after falling in love with tax work— sparking an interest in him to gather as much experience as possible!

Prior to joining our team, Nicholas was a member of GVSU’s Seidman Investment Portfolio Organization group. He also spent time as an intern for another firm, to gain a better understanding of the complexities of tax law.

While Nicholas works on earning his CPA license, his work at EHTC involves working on business tax returns and 1040s for a variety of our clients.

Nicholas’ favorite part of working at EHTC is the great work environment and being a part of the team! “I love working with people that are both friendly and professional!”

His advice for an aspiring tax associate is to “look into the accounting industry early! Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions— that’s how we learn!”

Outside the office, you can typically find Nicholas embracing all that the Michigan outdoors have to offer! He enjoys running, biking, and going to the beach (in the summer)! On those chilly winter days, he tackles the slopes as both a skier and a snowboarder.
